Description
My name is Camila Shoeibi and I am a political science major and a digital studies minor. For my big project I wanted to combine the two fields that I am pursuing here at UMW and create something unique. The goal of my project is to inform my audience on freedom and democracy around the world. I combined the field of politics and used my digital studies skills to try a new tool, Google My Maps, and create an informative map showing the lack of freedom and democracy around the world using data from Freedom House. Freedom House is an independent organization dedicated to the expansion of global freedom and democracy. Below is the map I have created with a key to follow along. The green pins are countries that are classified as free, yellow represents countries classified as partly free, and the red pins represent countries that are not free.
