I did this piece for my Printmaking I class. Animal extinction is something near and dear to my heart. I put the Northern White Rhinoceros in the middle because there were only three left in the world. I then consulted the IUCN Red List and chose two birds and two marine mammals to depict, all of which have less than 50 mature adults. A few months after I made this print, Sudan, the last male Northern White Rhino died, prompting me to do two follow-up pieces.
